As a companion piece to my investigative newspaper, I developed a 3D digital environment of the courtroom to provide a fully immersive perspective on the O.J. Simpson trial. Driven by a desire to expand my technical skill set, I challenged myself to master SketchUp, using the software to build a detailed and spatially accurate reconstruction of the trial's setting. The objective of this dual-media approach was to bridge the gap between information and experience. While the newspaper provided the granular facts and transcripts, the 3D space offered viewers a sense of presence and scale. By integrating the original audio recordings into this visual environment, I created a sensory experience that allowed the audience to not only read the history but to virtually step into the space where the voices and pivotal moments of the case unfolded.
